Pre-Jumping Motocross Jumps
Pre-jumping motocross jumps will allow you get extra height and distance over an obstacle. As
you hit the bottom of the up ramp compress the suspension by bouncing down on the footpegs and
pushing down on the handlebars. Give the throttle a blip as well.
Just before the bike leaves the top of the up ramp, pull up on the bars. This and the suspension
uncompressing will give you extra lift as well as the lift from the jump itself.
This technique
is very useful over obstacles that may be directly after a corner when you don't have a
whole lot of time or room to accelerate up to the jump. Pre-jumping can also be done in a seated position on the bike, again very handy when you have limited time to accelerate.
