'All My Ugly Friends', My Own Dirt Bike Video!
I decided to make my own dirt bike video after collecting quite a bit of footage from race meetings that I'd been competing at. I'd either wander onto the infield myself or would enlist the help of a friend to shoot some footage during the day, hoping to catch the occasional crash as well.
I loaded the footage onto my computer and thought it should be pretty straight forward to edit and put together a clip of some good racing footage. Boy, was I wrong.
After sifting through about 40 hours of my own race footage as well as footage collected from various sources including some good stuff from a play session we set up in a local quarry, as well as road biking, water ski-ing and just plain stupid drunken behaviour, I started to put it all together.
Well, after about 100 hours of editing, a few hundred dollars worth of computer hardware upgrades and quite a lot of beer that 7 or 8 minute clip turned into a 31 minute dirt bike video epic that even I was pretty impressed with. I'll just never do it again.
